With a storied history nearing a century, North Wales logistics powerhouse, Mars Jones, is charting an ambitious course for growth. The firm’s recent alliance with the distinguished pallet delivery network, Pallet-Track, has heralded the creation of 10 new positions, marking a pivotal step in Mars Jones’ journey to become the predominant operator in the region.
Established in 1924, Mars Jones has expanded its horizons over the decades, mastering niches like food and drink distribution, warehousing, storage, and contract packing. The business flourished under the Mars Jones lineage until its acquisition by seasoned transport operators, Chris Flynn and Paul Newton, in December 2020.
Now, the strategic partnership sees Mars Jones, anchored in Sandycroft and Deeside, integrating with the Pallet-Track network, adding another feather to its cap. Among their notable collaborations, Mars Jones counts global giants like Tate & Lyle and Ornua. This commitment to excellence is further exemplified by their accreditations from esteemed bodies such as the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) and the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
Elucidating the decision to collaborate with Pallet-Track, Mars Jones’ General Operations Manager, Imogen Watson-May, emphasized the synergy between the two entities. “Our objective is to craft a comprehensive offering for our clientele,” noted Imogen. She praised Pallet-Track for its unparalleled support and cutting-edge tracking systems, highlighting how seamlessly it meshes with Mars Jones’ values.
Looking ahead, Imogen revealed, “Our vision is unambiguous – growth is paramount, and our goal is to stand unrivalled in our sector. With expansion plans in the pipeline, including enhancing storage capabilities and inaugurating a third depot soon, our alignment with Pallet-Track has already borne fruit, resulting in 10 new job opportunities.”
Echoing this sentiment, Stuart Godman, CEO of Pallet-Track, voiced his optimism regarding the budding alliance, acknowledging Mars Jones’ exceptional operational standards. “This partnership underscores our intent to fortify our foothold in Wales, and we are thrilled to play a role in Mars Jones’ exciting evolution,” he said.
As Mars Jones propels forward, underpinned by robust partnerships and an enduring pledge to superiority, its trajectory promises even greater success.
